The Bengals worked out veteran linebacker Tahir Whitehead on Tuesday according to ESPN's Field Yates.
The nine-year veteran has compiled 684 tackles in 139 career games.
The Bengals could be interested in adding a veteran linebacker to the roster after losing Jordan Evans for the season.
Cincinnati promoted Joe Bachie from the practice squad to the active roster on Tuesday. They might've wanted to get a look at Whitehead before making the move or may still be interested in the 31-year-old.
Whitehead was a fifth-round pick (138th overall) by the Lions in the 2012 NFL Draft. He spent six years in Detroit, two years in Oakland and last season in Carolina.
Whitehead appeared in 14 games last season for the Panthers, finishing with 51 tackles and one interception.
