Ever since Mitch Jebb joined the Pittsburgh Pirates organization he has flat-out hit.
After a three-hit game on Friday night, Jebb had a four-hit performance for the Bradenton Marauders on Saturday and is now hitting .571 (8 for 14) through his first three professional games.
It’s obviously still early, but the Michigan State-product is making a strong first impression with the Pirates’ organization. Jebb was joined by these Pirates’ prospects as the standouts on Saturday night.
Indianapolis (47-53)
DH Rodolfo Castro
LF Miguel Andujar
Andujar continues to mash in Triple-A, and Castro finally broke through for the first time since getting sent down to the Indians earlier this month.
Luis Ortiz tossed five innings and gave up just one earned run in a 6-3 win over Louisville.
Altoona (44-47)
LF Lolo Sanchez
2B Tsung-Che Cheng
Despite Sanchez and Cheng combining for five hits and three of the extra-base variety, Altoona was walloped 13-3 by the Harrisburg Senators.
Pirates prospect Matt Fraizer went 1 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Greensboro (48-44)
1B Josiah Sightler
RHP Bubba Chandler
Bubba Chandler looked electric in his start on Saturday, and Sightler continues to impress with his play. In addition, Jack Brannigan went 3-5 with a solo homer and three RBIs
Thanks to some lights out pitching, and a dominating offensive performance, the Hoppers cruised to victory over Winston-Salem in a 13-4 victory.
Bradenton (55-39)
SS Mitch Jebb
DH Nick Cimillo
Jebb and Cimillo both turned in big performances with the bats for Bradenton in their 10-3 win over the St. Lucie Mets on Saturday.
Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Lonnie White Jr. connected on his second homer of the season and Deivis Nadal and Geovanny Planchart each had two hits.
